United Kansas Conference Preseason DAWG List

These are 16 players to watch in the United Kansas Conference in 2023. These guys had strong 2022 seasons and will look to lead thie year.

Bryson Vawter - Seaman - 2023:  At the plate, Vawter hit .422 with 8 XBH and 26 RBIs in 2022. On the mound, Vawter was a force as well with a 55-14 K to BB ratio and 1.44 ERA.

Lukas Boehm - Piper - 2024:  Boehm batted .394 with 8 XBHs in 2022. He steps into a larger pitching role this year after striking out 23 batters in 23 innings last season.

Caton Lanter - Piper - 2023:  Lanter is headed into his third season as the Pirates starting catcher after batting .359 with 6 XBHs in 2022.

Antonio Mendez - Lansing - 2024:  Mendez batted .357 with 4 XBHs in 2022. He was strong on the mound in spots as well.

Zak Surprise - Piper - 2024:  Zak collected 22 hits and 11 RBIs while batting .310 as a sophomore.

Dalton Jorgensen - Lansing - 2024:  In 2022, he seemed to succeed in any spot on the field, batting .313 with 5 doubles. Jorgensen also struck out 11 in less than 8 innings pitched.

Max Huston - Seaman - 2025:  As a freshman, Huston batted .300 with a couple doubles whiles striking out 13 on the mound in just over 6 innings.

Tyler Schaefer - Piper - 2025:  Another freshman, Schaefer started from day one collecting 19 hits, 4 of them for extra bases and 13 strikeouts in 9 innings from the mound.

Deacon Pomeroy - Shawnee Heights - 2025:  Another day-one starter as a freshman, Deacon hit 5 doubles and knocked in 16 runs on 19 hits in 2022.

William Howard - Basehor-Linwood - 2025:  After batting .378 in 2022 with 14 hits, Howard is an exciting young Bobcat.

Evan Smith - Shawnee Heights - 2023:  Evan heads into his senior season looking to lead after hitting .346 last season.

Jackson Harding - Leavenworth - 2024:  A strong sophomore season included 17 hits, 12 RBIs and 4 XBHs for Jackson.

Erickson George - Turner - 2025:  He batted .315 with 17 hits in 2022. George will lead from the mound and plate as a Sophomore this year.

Nicolas Perez - Shawnee Heights - 2023:  In 34 innings, Perez struck out 45 posting a 2.06 ERA.

Brandon Jones - Leavenworth - 2023:  With a 38-15 K to BB ratio, Jones had a 2.81 ERA in 2022.

James Umbarger - Lansing - 2024:  James threw some gems against some great teams in 2022 while posting a 3.78 ERA and 31 strikeouts.
