Objectives
Improve balance and finish; train quick recovery into the next swing; fix players who spill over or lose front-side brace.
Coaching cues
Stick the finish; get back to hitting position ASAP; brace into the front side and legs; no spill-over.
Common errors
Falling off the first swing; slow recovery; losing balance into the second pitch.
Steps
- 1. Two-Ball Sets — Machine feeds two consecutive pitches; hitter must stick finish and reset.
- 2. Progression — Increase velocity or shorten distance between feeds.
- 3. Focus Players — Especially useful for those who lose balance or spill over.
