Trosky Light-Feet Infield Technique Drill
Technique drill that trains quiet, light footwork versus heavy, stomping feet so infielders can stay athletic and react quickly.

Coaching notes
Players practice fielding ground balls while consciously keeping the feet light and quiet. Emphasis is on low knee bend, soft ground contact, and maintaining balance so the body is ready for the next movement.
Objectives
Replace heavy footwork with quiet, reactive feet that allow better balance and quicker first steps.
Coaching cues
Light and quiet feet; stay low in the knees; feel the ground without stomping.
Common errors
Heavy, loud feet; rising out of athletic posture; locking the ankles.

- 1. Assume low athletic stance
- 2. Field ground balls with deliberate light foot contact
- 3. Maintain quiet feet through the transfer and throw
