Coaching notes
Catcher sits or kneels in a constrained position and practices receiving and framing low pitches with perfect arm action and quiet upper-body movement.
Objectives
Isolate and improve glove path and presentation on low pitches without lower-body compensation.
Coaching cues
Stay quiet with the shoulders; work the glove up through the ball; present flat; keep the elbow under control.
Common errors
Stabbing; lifting the head; excessive arm swing; losing the bottom of the zone.
