- Equipment:
- Ball only
- Duration:
- About 8 min
- Setting:
- Outdoor
- Players:

Coaching notes
Players work drop-step and cut angles on live or coach-fed balls while coaches continually cue arm pump, straight-line paths, and not flashing the glove early. Includes push-up consequences for mental errors and constant verbal reinforcement of speed and intent.
Objectives
Teach efficient routes, full-speed arm action, late glove presentation, and aggressive mindset on balls in the gap or do-or-die situations.
Coaching cues
Pump both arms until the last second; plant and cut on a straight line; do not flash the glove early; sprint out of the break; get there first.
Common errors
Running with glove already extended (slows player); curved routes; early glove presentation; lack of arm pump.
Steps
- 1. Ready position and coach direction or fungo
- 2. Drop step / open and sprint on straight line while pumping arms
- 3. Late glove presentation only when reaching the ball
- 4. Do-or-die charge variation with same arm-pump emphasis
- 5. Immediate feedback and corrective reps
